Juma Al Harthy was born in Muscat in 1971. He started exploring his creativity in early childhood, drawing sketches on the sand, making toy cars from small pieces of finding, and carving animal miniatures out of wood and clay.
Juma al Harthy’s paintings contain a distinctive Omani visual language. Many of his mixed media works incorporate bits of carved wood as found in traditional Omani heritage structures, rendering the works as being immediately and vividly evocative of Oman.
“When creating, my focus is directed towards heritage, history and the artistic aspects of civilizations.”
