Omani artist Tahira Fida has created her own unique style. She is fascinated by communication and the means the human race have employed. Her work is rich in symbols, characters and letters from different languages, especially the ancient ones such as Aramaic and Hieroglyphic. In communicating her message to the viewer Tahira uses letters to support the symbols.
Her more recent
works have been inspired by Arabic poetry and English novels. She endeavours
to interact with the authors' feelings and reproduce these in an aesthetically
visual context to create a different method of communication. In her latest
collection Tahira also draws inspiration from her memories of her city
and its architecture.
