Born
in Makkah in1954, Mounirah Mosly is a graduate of the College of fine
Arts in Cairo. She pursued further artistic studies in the United States
and earned a diploma in Graphic Design in 1979. Later that year, she
joined the Saudi Arabian Oil Company, where she is a publications design
specialist in the Public Relation Department.
Mounirah has staged a number of private exhibitions all through her life with the first in Jeddah in 1973. Mounirah also participated in various exhibitions in the Kingdom and abroad from 1972 without interruption until October 2001 in Manama, State of Bahrain. Mounirah was the main organizer of the Art Festival in Khobar Saoudi in 2007 and her latest exhibition took place in Riyadh, Saudi in 2009 entitled "Ghaza Children" In 1994, Mounirah was selected as an Artistic Specialist by the Arab Gulf Program in support of the United Nations Development Organizations to contribute to their artistic and media programs. She has also earned a number of awards from several artistic Arab and international agencies and organizations. Over the last 25 years, Mounirah has actively pursued her artistic endeavors creating a unique collection and a versatile body of artistic and literary works, social contributions and studies published in local and Arab newspapers and journals. all arts and all times. I revisit them everyday, whenever I feel lonely
and visionless. I am in an eternal estrangement, and in a continuous
search that never stops." |
