Omani Artist Eftikhar Al Badawi has participated in various worldwide
exhibitions such as the UNESCO exhibition in Paris in 2004 and the Korea
Exhibition in 2003. She received the third price at the GCC competition
in Bahrain in 2002.
Eftikhar has a distinct
originality of style and subject matter and her work is distinguished
by balanced colours, expressive of warm and cold, dark and bright. She
skillfully blends Islamic symbols and ornaments into patterns and decorates
structures such as windows and doorways. Her paintings often feature ancient
Omani characters inspired by women whose clothes and backgrounds are similarly
adorned.
